that's super unspecific.

what kind of gaming? LoL? WoW? farcry4?

what kind of monitor? 1080p? 1440p? 4k?

what kind of OS? win7? linux?

what kind of peripherals? BS $10 keyboard and mouse combo?

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Believe it or not, yes it is possible, but you're going to get something...not worth your money.

With this build, it'll work good for the money, but there's no OS. You can throw in Windows but then you get a horrible graphics card. I recommend using Linux because it is free and a lot of popular games are supported, or saving up more for a larger budget to get more for your money if that is possible.

I should add, immediate upgrades for that build when possible are:

  • CPU Cooler to overclock the G3258 even more for better performance
  • SSD
  • Better mouse and keyboard, in whichever order is more preferable

Always trying to find reason.

Radeon Open Source drivers yes, not the proprietary drivers which he would be using if he wants any sort of acceptable frame rates. With the proprietary GTX 960 destroys r9 290 so yeah...:(((
