I run a 1080p display on my desktop monitor, both my laptops and my phone, but recently I bought a cheap ($10) Dell 19 inch 1280x1024 monitor, so that I could dual screen with my 1080p one, and it is actually quite nice.

EDIT - My macboook retina is acually 3k but retina scaling makes it look much bigger

1440p 27".  Makes a nice difference compared to 1080p.  I may buy a second and an aftermarket stand, to keep my desk clean.

Would like to try 1440p but nothing I have is capable of gaming at that res, and then I wouldn't be able to live with 1080p

I wanted 4k, but to get a decent IPS panel the prices are still ridiculous.  I don't play a ton of games, but I haven't had to downscale (yet).

Yeah. Was also on dual monitor until I found a third monitor (samsung 2253LW) which is super old but still works. So was thinking, what the heck. Just use whatever I have. :)

Feel like getting a 1440p IPS to replace my secondary monitor. But keep having this feeling that it's a waste of money. :(

I hear ya there. The 1080p secondary is slightly... lacking with the 4k next to it! Haha.

Haha. Yeah. That's why I'm thinking of getting 1440p. But then again, in my country, the price of 4K and 1440p is almost the same. Literally also the same. So basically topping up a $50 - $100 could get you a 4K. Plus it is so expensive. :(
