Need help picking a video card

Go to solution Solved by Redsun20,

Honestly, you should get a new PSU. But if you REALLY CAN'T, get a 750ti. Very power efficient and will be OK if you take your old GPU out. WHY DO YOU ONLY HAVE 50 WATTS LEFT ANYWAY??!

what do you have right now? how are you sure your PSU only has 50W to spare?

full system specs please.

@tyo445 follow your topic.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

I'm trying to find a gaming capable card. But the problem is, my PSU only has 50 watts left to spare. Any ideas?

Budget+full system and what do you mean with 50Watts left?

I didn't build the system but I think it's a ghetto 200 watt supply

You're really not going to be able to run any GPU with it, except for stuff that doesn't need power..

And those PSU's are not reliable too.

Just open the side panel and look for max output. I don't think they even make 200 watt supplies much anymore. Also, what are the spcs of that machine at anyway?

It's an old HP Pavillion and the PSU is just a white box with no labels. The sticker says it has AMD Athlon x4 and I installed a GeForce 8400. I don't remember the motherboard model but I can find out when I get to my house. It has 12 GB of DDR3 and runs 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium

Go to HP's website, go to support, look up the specs of your machine and please link it
