Hello guys so I noticed my audio life have became a lot more portable than in the past and my portable setup has been put to a lot more use than in the past.

I'm sure we all got a portable setup whether it is just Apple EarPods or a1300$ ciem I bet we all listen to audio on the go.

So this thread is for us to share our setups and experiences on the go I'll start with my own:

Day to day rig:

Grado gr10> iPhone 6 plus : this setup is really portable and sound great with the only disadvantage is that at really loud places the gr10s bass can be a little shy.

Long trips rig:

Grado gr10> fiio e12>> iPhone 6 plus: the fiio e12 makes this setup be very bulky so I only take it to long trips and air plane rides but it's bass boost I found work better than software eq and fixes my issue with the older setup.

Frisky rig:

Sony mdr z7>iPhone 6 plus/ fiio e12> iPhone 6 plus: this headphone is kinda bulky and don't isolate the best but damn it sounds good on the go.

It like to play loud and works amazing on the go the e12 take a visit when I need more volume but that's not often.

How are you liking you new gear (4R in particular)

My previous IEM was HifiMan RE-400. I was looking for additional bass that won't muffled out the rest of the spectrum and sidegrading showed no promise, so I decided to upgrade. Comfort is good although I get sore spot on my left ears.

For the money I spent it on, it's good but ofc it's not perfect

I'm too lazy to take a picture and my phone's camera sucks anyways. It's my phone with my Skullcandy earphones. I originally had Soundmagic E30s (or something to that effect), but I broke it. I found out while I was already at work, which is when I use my earphones. So, I went to the nearest shop and bought some random $10 Skullcandies. That broke. Friend's grandma sent me some free Skullcandy earphones, so now I'm using those. I'm not switching until these break too.

Sound quality's not the best. Amp has audible noise floor, and it's possible that neither the amp or the dac is transparent, and the tracks on there are pretty heavily compressed ogg.

There's this odd problem with the earphones I'm using now. Sometimes one ear would have most of the sound missing or very faint. I'm not sure it's even fixed, it just kindda does after a while. *shrugs* 1337 audio-file experience ftw.

People, here you can see the typical Texas-ian male hand..... :P

Mine is just a cheap Phrodi IEM and a pair of earpods, nothing special....

How come many of you have good headphones and scrub level in-ear / earphone

I hope you're not calling my MM100 scrub-level.

Well $100 is a good amount to spend for portable. But Y no in-ears?

I had IE60's at one point in time, but the cable broke within 6 months, so I sold the replacement from RMA. I have a pair of NuForce's NE-600X in my car if I need isolation while I'm out n about, but since I work in construction it's safer to have the situational awareness provided by the MM100. Occasionally I bring my Momentum On-Ear with me if I know I'll be sitting/waiting around for awhile, such as when getting my car serviced, but it rarely sees use if I leave it in my car. I use a VSonic VSD1S when in bed so I can lay on my side comfortably, and I value the purpose it serves too much too risk taking it out.

Believe it or not, the next best thing above the Phrodi M201 + comply tips, that I found, is the SE215. Even that is not a clear winner/far apart. Try it, even just for kicks. It's $10 on amazon, + $15 for the comply (box of 3, can be used with other IEMs anyway). Phrodi by itself is nothing special, but plug a comply in, and it's amazing.

How will you say they sound overall I have came to the realization the the gr10s just don't work well for me so I'm selling them and look for a different pair with a warmer signature and much better isolation(they were open iems).

Budget? The 4R is good if you want a more darker sound IEM. Personally, W4R doesnt have the best bang for your buck. Maybe something like RHA-M750i will satisfy you

Well my budget is 300$ ( what I'm selling my gr10 for) but I'll most likely buy It used anyway from eBay since my country barely got good offering for good price I already consider the Rha t10i but wanted to hear what you think of the 4R.

I'm also looking at the Shure se425 since they are priced well here.
