LG G2 bricked?!

Go to solution Solved by brokencross,

i've wiped everything and it doesn't boot up. I am now trying to flash pure stock now on my g2.

You can't simply flash a stock lg rom. You need the lg tool.

Here: http://wccftech.com/downgrade-lg-g2-to-stock-android-4-4-2/

If I were you I'd flash lollipop, but doing everything properly.

I need some help. I have an LG G2 D802 model. I flashed lollipop but I had no luck and it did not start. I then went to TWRP recovery amd flashed Kitkat again (without wiping because I don't want to lose my data). It boots up but its stuck on "Android is upgrading...Starting apps" I've tried flashing Kitkat 3 times and this still happens. It is currently doing it right now but I will wait 30 mins to see if I have luck. Help would be appreciated, Thanks.

what lolipop did you install?

3rd party rom?

Yes, it was a third party rom and I was already on 3rd party kitkat in the first place and now i'm trying to get back to 3rd party kitkat again. I've tried 2 roms but the same thing happens. Is it frozen or is it legitimately doing something? Is it trying to convert my apps from ART (lollipop) to Dalvik (kitkat) runtimes?

If it boots, it's not bricked.

I can access twrp. I have just wiped my phone completely (including all apps+data) and now it has been on the lg bootloader for about 10 minutes now, waiting for the phone to finish booting up

I think when I first flashed lollipop it would not boot into it. I think I flashed it and then factory reset and it worked.

so, do I flash kitkat as well but then just do a factory reset afterwards?

well, since I have no OS installed, I don't see the point of factory resetting and when I flash the rom it doesn't let me go back to the bootloader to reset it anyway, I am forced to restart into the OS. It has just finished flashing and has just entered the bootloader. @techguru said to wait 30 mins so that's what i'm doing.

Get into TWRP, mount the phone to USB. Get everything you want off and wipe the phone. Then install the ROM again.

You always have an os installed, so it is necessary (if you can't boot into it) to factory reset after flashing a new rom. Your bootloader is not connected to your rom, so you cant fuck it up unless you brick your phone.

From kitkat to lollipop I: kitkat>root kitkat>install twrp>flash lollipop>flash gapps>flash superuser>factory reset>done

Get into TWRP, mount the phone to USB. Get everything you want off and wipe the phone. Then install the ROM again.

I've done exactly that, its been in the bootloader for 6 minutes now and its still booting up.

What rom did you flash? You should always wipe before flashing a new rom.

I flashed 2 roms but both don't work. One is called cloudyg2 and the other is called optimusg3. They are both ports of the g3 version of android for my phone (the g2)

If you can get it to boot to recovery it's not bricked. You definitely fucked up trying to revert from lollipop to kitkat without wiping. And no, you can still wipe dalvik, cache, etc without losing your data (unless you wipe data, obviously).
