Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Overclockable?

I have this motherboard, with a AMD FX-8350 in it. I have a corsair h100i cooling it, and i got the auto clock thing to go to 4.6. If anyone has this motherboard and has overclocked on it, and it seems to be fine, please tell me. I don't know if this motherboard is meant for semi overclocking. It would be aweosme if i could get it to 5.0Ghz.

I have the same Mobo and same chip.

I've only pushed mine to 4.4 for now since I have a 212 evo but hope to hit around 5Ghz as well.

 

I'm only held back by temps though.

 

By the way what do you mean by auto clock?

Its not for extreme overclocking. Its a mid level board.

Probaly you won't get to 5Ghz stable but with and H100i no harm in trying. I'd go for it.

Yeah it's not really meant for OC but good luck with getting 5GHz you'd have saved several hundred $ from getting a FX 9590 (4.7 base, 5.0 turbo)   :P.

I would of got the new fx, but i built my pc in 2012. Plus the new fx is sorta limited to its overclocking...and its power hungry. Anywho, AMD has a program that you can use to overclock the cpu with one click. (Overdrive is the name). It also does other stuff. I guess ill try and see what happens.

Yeah...I would switch to intel if that was the case.

That is the case. FX 9590 is a higher binned FX 8350 with 4.7GHz base, 5.0 Turbo and MSRP is $800.
