my friend has the money like seriously right now. he's looking for a gaming pc for about 600 dollars. live in the us, gonna use a 108p monitor. hes playing games like cs;go, dayz (yes i know its poorly optimized), and other games.

i want the base price (no rebates) to be in the 600's too just to make it easier for him because MIR are a hassle.

only need the tower, no windows or anything.

For just the tower I'd go with this, you can also drop to an i3 and upgrade to a 290 but I'd rather stick with four physical cores personally.

For 108p gaming you can get a potato and connect it to a ti 84 and it will play fine.

For 1080p gaming this is fine:

edit: changed processor

With 108p you don't need 600€, for 108p 100€ is enough.

With all my main programs installed and 70GB of games I'm only using around 125GB, 128 is fine as long as you're not installing huge games and makes a big difference to general use.

its still not worth at that price range, who knows if he isnt gonna buy more demanding games like BF4 where you wanna have a decent loading time, and i mean the wd blue that I use in my desktop is 2x as fast as a laptop HDD with its 170MB/s sequ. so totally fine
