Quad core 2ghz or Dual core 3ghz?

Hi everyone. my friend is going to get an "cheap gaming laptop" and and he was wondering if Quad Core 2ghz is better than Dual Core 3ghz (f.eks).

i think what he probably will use it for is CS:GO mostly and that's about it :P

Exactly. Clock speeds don't have anywhere near as much meaning as they did 10 years ago.

 

We need models of the chips before we can tell you for certain..

Definitely dual core since cs:go is based on an old engine that only uses two thread which in most cases simply means 2 cores. As long as he does not use any background applications while gaming,he should be better off with the dual core.
