Installing Windows 8/8.1 on a Late 2006 iMac

ActuallyGoose
Go to solution Solved by DimasRMDO,

Judging on how much it seems to be non-recommended, i might not try it...

Maybe i should just wait to get a windows desktop

According to Apple's website: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204048 you can actually install windows on an iMac Late 2006 but it has to be Windows Vista or XP using installation DVD instead of using Boot Camp. This is the picture:

So, basically... I'm just wondering if it's possible for me to install windows 8/8.1 on my iMac, i really have no idea what i'm doing but i've watched a few videos on it and it seems to work, But i don't really know what i'm doing, all i know is that i have to use boot camp xD

So if someone could help me out with an answer, and possibly even help me install it, it would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

You can try with bootcamp, but I don't now if you will have full driver support for it

It depends on your current OSX version, check these guides for your current OSX, you need at least 10.8 for having windows 8 compatibility https://support.apple.com/manuals/#macoscomponents

To use Boot Camp Assistant, just go open it then you'll be asked to Create Windows Installation Disk, Download Drivers and Install Windows ... Tick all that and plug your chosen USB, choose the Windows .iso file and then it should create the Windows Installation USB with its drivers. But before doing this go check Apple's website to know whether your iMac is compatible or not.

But I've seen a bunch of videos of people installing windows 7 or 8 with boot camp, and on the same OS
