Corsair H100i Questions

Go to solution Solved by TheMidnightNarwhal,

Can I buy seperate SP fans to put on it instead of the stock ones with the cooler? Do they have to be 120 or would 140 mm fit?

Any 120mm fan will fit. Just make sure you get static pressure fans.

You can but I wouldn't. it's designed for optimal performance with the fans it has.

It already comes with SP series fans, they just don't have any color

Ok I will also be using the fans to double as exhaust since they are there. Will it make a difference since the 3 intake and other exhaust are 140 mm?

Not true, you can get aftermarket fans that will be better.

Don't buy an H100i.

It has a lot of mounting problems with LGA1150, and you are not guaranteed to get a proper mount out of the box, you often need modifications.  The pump is noisy, so are the fans.  On top of all that, the Corsair Link software is very buggy.

Buy the Cooler Master Nepton 240M.  No mounting problems, a nearly silent pump, and two of the highest end SP fans come included.  No buggy software, and it costs about the same as the H100i.

What? I did not have a single problem with my h100i on a LGA1150. For the software I don't know, I use Fan Xpert to control my fans. Could change the LED flawlessly tho on the Corsair link,

Not everyone has problems, but enough people do that I cannot recommend the H100i.  People have also had issues with Corsair link just trying to change the LED, but it is mainly fan control and things like that which are so buggy.

Well I woudl say only 10% of people get problems... I never heard anything like this before.

Higher than 10%.  At least once a day someone on this forum alone is complaining about something with their H100i.

High temps because of improper mounting

Loud pump

Loud fans

Buggy software

For those it works for, it works for well, but those that it doesn't work for, have a litany of issues.  Its a product to be avoided, especially when the Nepton 240M can be had for $10 more, or the Seidon 240M for $20 less.

Corsair just came out with a new software update where all bugs with corsair link has been fixed, but for the product only thing i hate are  the fans they can get loud. Amd mounting works great with the H100i. not sure about LGA1150.

Oh that's good to hear.

As far as the actual AIO, the pump is also supposed to get pretty loud. The fans are some good SP fans, but again, loud.

The mounting problem seems to be unique to LGA1150.

Exactly how louds is the pump, and other pumps on other AIOs?  Because I would actually really like to see a comparison, as everyone (including Linus and Luke) always talk about how much noise the fans make on AIOs, but never really the pumps.

Essentially Noctua level silence and performance in the form of an AIO. I remember awhile ago I was looking at a review of just pump noise, comparing nothing else. I need to find it again to show you. In the meantime, here are some results showing how good of a performer thermally and acoustically the 240M is compared to the H100i.
