Hey guys, what is it that effects the temperatures of the CPU socket? I'm trying to OC my 8320 and the socket temps are north of 70. Is it because of the motherboard? I have the m597 r2.0. I have it at 4.2 with stock voltage and it's stable but if I wanted to go any higher I would need to know. Thanks for the help!

72C is the max 24/7 safe temp for the socket. Stay under 60C for the Core. My socket temps are usually always higher than my core temps, that's because there's no direct or active cooling on the socket.

The core temps are just fine. A little over 50. Is there any way to cool the socket?

yeah, get a better cpu cooler and improve the case airflow

My CPU cooler is fine. I have the CM Hyper EVO. It does good for the Core but not the socket.

lower CPU temp will also lower the socket temp

if you want to overclock more, you will need to lower your socket temp by lowering the CPU temp with a better cooler

if you dont want to overclock more, the socket temp is fine
