There is a problem with my PC that occurs at random times where my PC case powers up but nothing else in the system seems to power on (though there is a light on the ethernet port on the motherboard). Recently, I have been experiencing crashes and various other issues with my graphics card, you can find these posts in my profile.

My specs are as follows:

ASRock H97M-Pro4

Intel Core i5 4590

Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming

Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 (2xDIMMs) 1600mhz

Corsair CX-750M

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Tofite.

Sounds like PSU issue to me.

swap the PSU out and see if that fixes it, otherwise the MB might be deadish.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

remove the GPU

clear the CMOS and set the boot priority

No, these various problems started about 1 month after I built the PC.

what was the last thing you did to your PC and this happen?

I did nothing to the PC, it just happened out of the blue.

ok what i suggest is run without the GPU

see if the blank screen happens with the PC running only the onboard output

and report back the results

Is your GPU is overheating ?

If that is the case, you could download OpenhardwareMonitor.
You can run a plot on GPU temperature (select GPU temp) then view as a plot, and set time window to 10 or 20 minutes.
Then play your game, and once in a while pause to check your temperature. You should be able to see the temperature behaviour of the GPU as you are playing. and pausing.

Good luck!

My GPU doesn't overheat, it rarely goes above 65 C.

Bump

did you follow my suggestion?

remove the GPU and let the system run

Do you have by any chance a extra PSU you could try out as it sounds like your PSU is crapping out on you so it is not supplying enough power to all your components especially the GPU...another thing you can try to do is if you also have a extra GPU,you do need one like you have now just try any GPU should let you know if there is a problem with your main GPU..

I would try to narrow it down to one part at a time such as a GPU first as it be the easiest to change first, then if that does not work try a PSU.

It also sounds like something is getting very hot and this would also cause your PC to crash, did you notice if all the fans on your GPU,CPU and PSU are spinning...I would also check to make sure nothing has came loose such as all your PSU wires going to each component.

Now this is just a suggestion but you could remove your CPU heat sink and reapply new thermal compound as it would not hurt just to make sure it is getting a good heat transfer between your CPU and your heat sink..
