Boot Problem

Go to solution Solved by dragoon20005,

i will say reset the CMOS and make sure the boot priority is set to the correct drive

Hey all, I am having a problem booting into Windows 8.1 pro. So I was in the bios ajusting fan settings and I saw the option for RAID. I have two hdd's and so I went to the raid boot menu ( ctrl i). I follow the instructions until it asks me something like "to continue this device needs to be deletded -harddrivewithallmystuff. y/n. Obviously i hit the "n" key for no, and begin my usual windows startup to play some audiosurf. One problem. I boot into windows recovery automatic repair. No big deal, it always does this when I shut it down incorrectly, one problem, when I try to boot into windows it doesn't work. I try restarting afew times but no luck. not i am using the windows recovery to "restore my computer to an erlier date (yesterday).

it just finished that as I am typing and it says that ":( your system ran into some problems starting up" and it booted into the automatic repair screen again. What should I do? I went intp the raid menu again and it shows that my hdd's are NOT in raid, so it must not have deleted my stuffs.

please help

thanks.

Yes, and keep it disconnected with the PC off for 5 min, then replace it back in the mobo, and reboot.

Correct! Unplug the system, turn off PSU, press the power button to discharge any capacitors, then remove the little button battery. Wait a minute, then pop it back in and put everything back and power up.

And ladies and gentlemen, a word to the wise and confused....If you have a problem when in bios....unplug it, then plug it back in. :D  Congrats on the fix! and I wish you a happy PC for years to come lol.
