Hey everyone,

Just put the pc together and it doesnt turn on. Not sure where to even start, there are 3 things not plugged in but 2 of them are the large 4 pin case cables, but these are a small 3 pin section attached which ive plugged into SYSFAN (2 fans). Another cable has space for 4 wires, but only a thin white and a thing green cable in it - cloudy white casing to the end of the cable?

Please help, its my 21st birthday and not sure what to check

It's alright man.

Take a moment, get a few pictures of your build from multiple angles, and post to the thread for us to see. I'm sure we can figure it out.

Guilty of building a PC that is more powerful than necessary... No ragrets.

Look at the motherboard and check if you still see empty headers. Make sure you plugged them in correctly.

Then look at the front panel connectors. Look in the manual, and make sure that al those are plugged in correctly. Those pins are very small, and i have misplugged them several times aswell.

Let me know if this was it, or if it still isn't working.

You could have the front panel pin connectors on incorrectly. This is a stickler with newbies at PC builds. As curry said, get some pics, so we can see what your seeing :)

where does the green and white molex connector go from?

and definitely check the front panel connectors, they could be misplaced, and is an easy fix. just check the MOBO´s manuel

Green and white molex connector is attached to something at the front, potentially a fan but i cant see.

HDD, POWER SW and RESET SW have been placed in the right slots (i believe), where if i was looking at the word on the cable, top is negative and bottom is positive

it's really hard to understand anything with those pics, i couldn't tell what's wrong at all, i'd suggest remove everything and assemble , also there will be a switch on the PSU, make sure you turn on , ALSO, please remember, users usually reverse the switch on PC Jumpers, try reversing the turn on jumpers and give it a try

What are you looking for a pic of exactly?

Make sure that your Power and reset button is plugged in properly also check your 4x4 pin Motherboard Connector and I cant tell in the picture if you have ram in your system but you will need it to boot

now some questions

Do you get any lights when you plug the system in ?

Is the system plugged in and the power switch flipped?

did you check all your connections to make sure they are in there proper place?

what are the Specs of the PC

there is only 3 cables you need to make your PC turn on In most cases the 24 pin  mother board the 4x4 pin CPU cable and the power switch in some cases there's a button or you can use a jumper.

Does the Motherboard get power from the Powersupply? It can have something to do with the powersupply. I had a friend have problems with the power, and miraculously we simply connected the PSU to a different computer, turned that on, then swapped again, and it worked.

I don´t believe you would be able to do a swap check, but it could help.

also check the CPU and the 24 pin power connections and make sure they are securely in place.

Kinda hard to tell where the fault is with those pics.

Most likely something is not pluged in or so, just check everything, even if it sounds stupid.

1: Power socket switched on?

2.Power cable pluged into psu properly?

3. PSU switched on?

4. 24 pin plugged in properly?

5. 4 pin cpu power plugged in properly?

6. Power switch installed right?

7. Power switch cables attached to power switch?

for 6 and 7 maybe just remove the front panel connectors and bridge the two pins that should be for the power switch.

Hope this helps :)

  • is your CPU power cable also connected ? i can see only motherboard pin attached in the pic
  • try reversing the  positives and negatives of the power on wires - look in the  manual
  • is the PSU switch on? there will be a PSU switch behind the PSU

thanks for the pics, they do help!

What Mobo do you have? I can take a look at the online manuel, and see about all the connections, just to make sure.

The CPU power is connected,  I can see it with the shot of his CPU heatsink.

He had said that he double checked the P+ to the N-, and he stated it didn´t help.
