found a 6990 for 30 USD. I dont need a new card but it seems like a cool one just to have. it supposedly works fine but has an artifacting issue once it hits 70*C. Opinions? worth it as a decoration?

I have one in my one of my rigs... Never had artifacting, and it's ALWAYS over 70 degrees. At that price it's worth it, even as a decoration.

 

Edit: Also, if you buy it.. it doubles as a space heater ;)

$30 is cheaper than most heaters, so get it :)
