Recently I have interested myself in building a good and not so expensive

(I will buy components from abroad)  PC for moderate gaming and other tasks.

I have already made tons of research and I would like some help about the Processor.
I am thinking about going for an AMD Processor as they are cheaper in price and they
have better integrated/On Board graphics.

However, I don't know for which model I should go. For now I wont buy a graphics card
and will use the graphics of the CPU. Thus my ideal CPU would be one with (4 cores or more and)
good internal graphics. My budget is around $100-150 max.

What do you suggest is a good CPU ??  :)

Any A8 AMD APU or AMD A10 if you can get a good deal.

Take a look at the A10 7850K, however often an Athlon 860K + R7 260X/250X solution is a similar price and is generally better.

Maybe @Speedbird can tell you something about his 7850K?

Right now that rig is running a GTX 970, but from what I remeber the 7850K was good for AAA titles at medium settings 60fps. AMD Mantle helps a bit, but don't expect any setttings higher than medium to run at 60fps.

an A8 with 2133Mhz Ram will probably be as good as an A10 with 1600Mhz Ram. Carrizo are a few months away, but I have no idea if they will just be SOC's or socketed processors like current APU's.

Okay thanks guys  :)

I think I will delve into the A10s

and compare some APUs.

You better get some good RAM... Its vital to the APU performance...

Couple of pitfalls with APUs: You need to get good RAM and perhaps even OC the northbridge as well, as it's prone to bottlenecking when you get the RAM over 2133MHz (because that's what it was designed for). For the love of god get a dual channel kit or you'll be throwing away half of the performance.

Now, because of the RAM bandwidth the 7850K may still be the best APU there is (It's pretty good-I've got one), but really, the 7700K isn't too far behind I'd think.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

yep. gotta have that 2133Mhz+ Ram goodness.

your looking for an APU so something in the A10 series like an A10 6800K http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113331&cm_re=a10-6800k-_-19-113-331-_-Product

I would avoid Richland as Kaveri costs the same price now. Richland uses VLIW 4 architecture in their iGPU compared to GCN in Kaveri.

A10-7700k (384 GCN @ 720 MHz)= $129

A10-6800k (384 VLIW 4 @ 844 MHz) = $124

The iGPU on both overclock extremely well although GCN is a far better performing architecture as can be seen here.

@Georg Grech Depending on what games you play you may not even need a discrete GPU. An overclocked 7850k coupled with 2400 MHz memory is a little monster.

Guys, I'm not really a whizz when it comes to RAM yet, (I'm learning part by part)

So what you guys are saying is that I should select cards with 2133Mhz+ of RAM ? Which good brands do you recommend ?

(I know bottlenecking is like limiting the actual performance of the APU if I'm not mistaken)

What about "OC the northbridge" ?

Also, I'm not planning to overclock just yet but I think I'd better buy one that is OClockable ye ??

What do you guys think ??

@Opcode (already saw that video actually haha but thanks)@Briggsy @ManWithBeard199 @thatguy321

What we're saying is APU's starve for memory bandwidth which limits their performance. The higher frequency memory you have the higher theoretical bandwidth. So if you decide to go for an AMD APU make sure you get a motherboard that supports high frequency memory and make sure you get high frequency modules.

Well, with overclocking the northbridge I mean just that. There's a setting in the BIOS that lets you select the northbridge's speed. Mind you, it can't go much faster than it already does: Default is 1800MHz and I've yet to make it go faster than 2000, but the benefits are real. You will occasionally make your pc unbootable while trying. Should this happen, you need to clear CMOS and try again. Also it doesn't really do that much good if you're at 2133MHz RAM. Above that it does.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I will go for a motherboard form factor: microATX                                                                                                                        @Opcode

Dual Channel

Don't know just yet the brand I'll go for but I'll make sure it can support high frequencies of RAM.

Thanks

I'll overclock when I get full grip of the APU haha so not just yet. But from what I'm  getting, I'll need to use BIOS settings to overclock but I'll start with 2133MHz RAM.

Thanks

Even if you don't plan to overclock, most the higher end APU are K (unlocked). A8-7600 is the only Kaveri APU I can think of the isn't unlocked.

So with RAM for an APU, instead of something like this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148544 which is only 1600MHz, you'd much rather have something like this, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231655 which is 2133MHz.

So once you figure out which APU you want you just need to make sure the motherboard you buy support the higher speed RAM.

Well, overall I don't know how much I should spend but I'm sure I can get a good average gaming PC for under $600

I found some good APUs mentioned at $120-$150.

I use eBay a lot, any other sites you recommend ? (Preferably International sites)

eBay can be hit or miss on deals, but as long as your willing to be a little flexible on your build it can be done. Unfortunately I don't know of any good international sites.

If you're not planning to overclock at all, you could maybe save some money with a A8-7600, they usually run under $100 USD.

I would check around and see what sites you can order from and in what currency? Because in America I can build a i3 + dGPU setup for $600 which will blow away any APU build.
