3570 non k Big bottleneck bf4

Guest Haduvokone
Go to solution Solved by Bussinateur,

Your CPU is not the bottleneck. Try reinstalling latest beta drivers and reinstalling the game as well

Hi, sorry but i already did this threat but i am really worried because i have a 3570 non k as you have probarly seen :) but if i run bf4 with dx11 it is like my 290 is sitting in 50% usage!!! that is an insane bottleneck with an clean install of windows i checked many times for virusses with mantle it work pretty well but still there has to be something wrong right? thank you!!!!!! :o

No way a 3570 is a bottleneck.

I get 65% usage on my GTX 760  in BF4, it's just badly optimized.

Try re-installing your GPU drivers.

wanna do a print screen of task manager and afterburner (side by side) after a few minutes of gameplay?

ive run my 290 locked down to an fx4300 and didnt get a difference (though as an fx6 its much got some overhead) its well threaded, even on ultra i get 70fps (when recording with fraps im obviously pinned to 60).

what have you got going on in the background? spotify, utorrent?

Uninstall drivers

USE DDU AFTERWARDS

Reboot+Reinstall drivers

*DDU is Display Driver uninstaller.

My 4690 powers my GPU to full Usage in BF4 even when I have full CPU load.

I think it's a random driver bug.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

okay are you on ultra and what fps are you getting? because with my 290 its REALLY not meant for 1080p, at anything less than ultra itll sit there drumming its fingers at 85% usage (not my cpu's fault, just the way it works, just because you have a r9-270 with an fx8 only getting 75% usage at 720p on low doesnt mean you have a bottleneck...your at low on 720p....) also inside a tank isnt the best scenario

also change the afterburner theme to the older one with tis displaying temp, fan speed%, usage and vram (set to 4096) that'll net you the best information (i do this all day)

does this seem like your gameplay? (bearing in mind fraps limits to 60)

in large 64 player maps and even in some single player maps, a K series i5 (with a good overclock) is going to get nailed hard, regardless of the GPU. non-k 3570 is going to be worse. When BF4 launched, and for some time after, I played with a 1296/7000 clocked 4GB gtx760 and an i5 3570k @ 4.7Ghz, and my cpu got the crap hammered out of it in single and multiplayer, but it was playable.

OP definitely suffer from a huge cpu bottleneck.

Dont blame the game, and that the 290 is not ment for 1080p is also completely nonsense.

If the gpu load sits low as that, and the fps drops from 100 to 30, then its most likely a cpu bottleneck.

Dont think because he has an intel cpu it cant bottleneck.

Because every cpu will be a bottleneck at a certain point.

sandy and ivy bridge also slowly starting to show their age, with  the newer highend graphics cards, same as AMD FX for that matter.

Mantle was basicly a very nice api, that could take allot of overhead away from the cpu.

THats why you see better frames and performance overall with mantle and BF4.

Just because the GPU is not being fully utilized does not mean that it is a CPU bottleneck right away.  There's plenty of things that can cause that.

Why would you run it in DX11 when you have an AMD GPU? Play it on Mantle.

Because it can work better.  Mantle never worked right for me on my 270xCF Mantle set up.

Just because the GPU is not being fully utilized does not mean that it is a CPU bottleneck right away.  There's plenty of things that can cause that.

GPU load going from 100% to 50%  fps drops from 100 to 30....

The Fact (given by op) that with mantle enabled, (that takes allot of overhead away from the cpu) the fps is allot better.

Then to me its obviously that the cpu is the bottleneck here. ;)

And that doesnt realy surprice me.

You catched the battlefield 4 bug...it's a battlefield related issue you should start by doing a clean re-install of the game on a fresh drive. i had this problem once..never found the cure.

Or it's an issue with the DX11 driver being installed improperly.  Mantle may help for more reasons than alleviating a CPU bottleneck.

I've seen some crazy shit result from driver installs being goofed up.

Quite simply, there isn't a semi-recent CPU out there that will bottleneck BF4 at 30 FPS, certainly not a 3570.  Even an FX 4150 will do better than that.
