Does bidding multiple times on Ebay help you?

Snickerzz

So I've noticed that some people on Ebay will bid a dollar or so multiple times, outbidding themselves for seemingly no reason. Does this help you (the bidder) on ebay in someway?

That's just the auto bidding system, they aren't actually bidding in $1 increments, but rather someone else is bidding but that person has auto bids set up to a higher price so it just one ups them automatically every time.

You know what helps the most? Bid snipers.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)
