So I read the sticky and couldn't decipher any of it.

The basic question is there are two items I'm looking at. A 1080p TV 24", and a 1080p Monitor that is also.. 24". The difference between them is fifty dollars. My uncle (who helps me with this stuff) says that TV's will display television and movies in 1080p, but when connected to a PC it will output in 720p.

The two items i'm talking about are listed below.

Thanks for all that can help.

When I used a 1080p TV with my PC it wouldn't display higher than 768p. But hooked up to my X360 it would display 1080p just fine

TVs when connected to computers dont usually work to well

When I used a 1080p TV with my PC it wouldn't display higher than 768p. But hooked up to my X360 it would display 1080p just fine

it has VGA

it will do 1080p no problem

Wow, speedy replies here.

I will be gaming on it, it won't be across the room and it'll be in the typical position most people play PC games on.

I guess I'm thinking that 1080p means that it'll all look beautiful no matter what. I think that what yall are trying to say is that Minotaurs are meant to be viewed up close while TV's are kind of farther away.

I personally would highly recommend you go the monitor route, and if you go the monitor route I'd strongly recommend going with an IPS monitor. You won't regret it mate. I can recommend some if you'd like. :)
