Hi,

the last few days my motherboard is been acting really weird. It's getting really hot (at least I think it's my motherboard) to the point that I can feel the temperature coming from my computer. My computer is a custom built system. I will post some details later. To the situation: I put my PC half a year ago in to the closet and didn't use it until now. Before that I've never had any overheating problems or noticed anything weird. Now I put Mac OS X on to one of my HDD and used it for a bit (had to do some BIOS adjustments to get it going). Then I started playing Guild Wars 2 again, and this is were I felt the temperatures going up, to the point, where I get warnings, eg. 'Motherboard ~60c', 'Motherboard -1c'. This when I opened up my case and cleaned it a bit (it wasn't too bad). It didn't fix anything (I will clean in a few day with some canned air again). Then I cleared cmos, reset my bios to defaults. Nothing. Now, my CPU & GPU temps are normal I'd say around 40-50 during stress, but one of the five things listed under Motherboard has around 70c and one 127c (which I hope is just a bad sensor :P). The picture I attached is during Guild Wars 2 running for around 1 hour and a 1080p stream. And again, I've never had problems like this before. The PC doesn't shut down or anything, but the temperatures are unreal. Oh I also get random USB DC sounds.

Any suggestions?

My system:

16GB Ram

NVIDIA GTX 670

Corsair Link H80i with Noctua attached

Case: Fractal Define R4, using the two standard fans in the front

127 would just be a bad sensor.

As long as you're not going over 60 I think you should be fine. However, I think you should add a couple more fans to your R4. If you get the right fans you'll still be pretty darn silent.

Sig under construction.

Touch your motherboard in various locations.

Then see of HWMonitor is correct.

It is warm, the GPU is also pretty warm. So I think it is correct, not with the 127c though

Not really sure where you live in the world, but in the case you live in the US, remember that 100C is 212 degrees Fahrenheit. That is, hot enough to boil water. If you were able to touch these parts and not get burned semi-horribly, those temps aren't exactly right. 127C is 260F. Something isn't right there, as you wouldn't be able to touch that without feeling pain, at which point (at least I) would consider that hot to the touch, rather than just warm to the touch.

In the case I came off as offensive, I am not trying to be. However, it seems like an oversight to think pretty warm is worthy of the boiling temps your monitoring software is showing.
