V sync Causing audio crackling

Go to solution Solved by GETxHIPFIREDx,

Unless his PSU is faulty, which I don't think it is (it could be), it's entirely sufficient for his card.

I haven't experienced the same problem again since switching to an ASUS 970 running on a DVI cable, with audio going over the motherboard via a headphone jack. Now I just have a slow POST problem that I suspect is either memory or PSU related.

Just got some memory back from RMA, completely replaced. Gonna test it on another rig first and see what happens.

i reinstalled windows and im good. slight problems no where near the old problems

specs in sig/profile

so in a lot of game i will play if i v sync enabled the audio crackles. even in games when im getting 100+ fps.

i have updated audio drivers on my motherboard and graphics card driver as well ( clean install)

i have no idea where to start. if you have and questions please ask and ill awnser

That is very strange. They are two different things... It could be the electrical noise from the GPU that affects the sound when it's working hard. Have you tried using headphones to see if it still crackles?

Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates.

The interrupt to process latency reflects the measured interval that a usermode process needed to respond to a hardware request from the moment the interrupt service routine started execution.  REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is interrupted and blocked from execution.

NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.

Thank you for the spoiler tag xD

Try this.

Set your power mode to "High performance" and your minimum processor state to 100%.

I always do this when I install windows.

From the log, it looks like USBPORT.sys is causing the issue. Try re installing the drivers for your motherboard; including the chipset drivers, and the intel rapid storage utility.

I actually had this issue too; but from a different driver. I swapped hardware a stupid amount of times to the point where I had the same specs but only my PSU was original. It ended up being an AMD driver issue with crossfire.

MEASURED INTERRUPT TO USER PROCESS LATENCIES
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The interrupt to process latency reflects the measured interval that a usermode process needed to respond to a hardware request from the moment the interrupt service routine started execution. This includes the scheduling and execution of a DPC routine, the signaling of an event and the waking up of a usermode thread from an idle wait state in response to that event.

Hmmm. Try it without the GPU; clean install again, and install one driver at a time.

After each driver, check with Latencymon

I had a similar problem with a gtx 660 EVGA ftw edition card. It had nothing to do with V-sync though.

From what I managed to figure out, it was one of two things,

either my PSU was not good enough for EVGA's card, which is what EVGA claimed when they RMA replaced my GTX660, and the problem continued,

or

EVGA's ftw cards just suck for some reason.

Gonna test it on another rig first and see what happens.

disable/uninstall ANY and ALL sound rivers you are not using. you may have 3 different ones installed creating conflict.

you mentioned heasdphones above............ do what I previously said. don't install anything for the headphones yet. see how things go.

If it works and you need a driver for the headphones, install and see how that effects.

disable windows auto driver updates and windows updates first.
