How can I connect my R9 290 to a VGA monitor?

I have a spare VGA monitor sitting around and thought I'd use it, I'm prepared to buy peripherals to use the monitor, what will I need?

It's gotta be analogue or something... And my mobo doesn't have VGA connectors... (I can use the r9 290 with onboards if I enable via BIOS)

Huh? ive got an old Monitor hooked up to my 7950 with a DVI to VGA adapter.

The R9 290 has no DVI-I ports for analog output.

 

You need a DVI to VGA active converter to make an analog VGA output that your old monitor can use.

Use a DVI-to-VGA adapter. Or any VGA adapter for that fact
