Prodigy vs 380t

Go to solution Solved by Cactu,

I don't know if you used the Titan X as an example or on purpose. It's part of an inside joke

Stick a 970 or something in there and you should be fine. You're probably not going to need dual card configs. Unless you're trying to run 3*1080p off of the PC. And if you are, that's a whole different game of "Why are you doing that with a mATX case?!"

Thank you this awnsers my question, also I meant quadruple Titan x black white editions with 2000000 cuda cores in gsync hyperthreaded ice cooled plasma based mlg yolo editions in sli on an x99 motherboard in a mitx case

So I am building my first pc with the design of portability in mind and got stuck at these two cases. The reason I am debating is because I am futureproofing my build to my budgets fullest extent and even have a gtx 970. I want the prodigy because it supports matx boards which offers sli support which I'm not sure I need (what do you think) . I also want the 380t because of the looks and unequity and nice handle. What are your thoughts?

Well, let's be honest. SLI in an MATX case is a bad idea not of the time. IMO if the machine is supposed to be portable, you should buy the 380t. It's got the handles n all.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I'm not a fan of the 380t, I would go for the prodigy.

Why is sli in a matx case a bad idea?, also that's pretty much the only thing stopping me from getting the 380t so if you prove to me why sli is a bad idea it's 380t all the way, also I don't like the look of a tower (prodigy) as much as the hexagonal prism of the 380t

The heat will be real.

Also, I am for the 380t. Not against.

What if both of my cards are reference and vent out the back of the case

And what if they are windforce?

If they're reference they suck air in through the fan. Which means that the card nearest to the CPU would have higher temps, because it has less space to pull in air. It's not suffocating, but it will run at higher temps.

If I'm not mistaken the windforce cards blow air down over the heatsink. The hot air is then dispersed into the case, which will raise the overall system temperature.

@Jerakl in the end my only concern is will I ever need sli if I plan on having this computer as long as possible and don't plan on buying a Titan x anytime soon?
