So after planning a build in the R5 for a while, I have turned 180 and decided I want to make an mitx build and make it look as good as possible. I truly think the M1 is $100 better looking IMO than something like the 250D and am fully prepared for the cost. So with that out of the way, I was wondering what GPU to put in there. I really like the idea of a super quiet system and wont spend any more than $260 on a card because of the lack of heavy duty games I play. The most intense thing I play right now is smash bros on dolphin. Im guessing it will come down to the GTX 960 and R9 280-285. Thanks for your help!

No GTX 960 plz..

280x is best to recommend.

I've heard mixed review about the 960. In terms of thermals and sound and from the benchmarks I've seen it doesn't seem that bad. I know the 280x is much better FPS/dollar but isn't it very loud and hot?

It's a great GPU, just no price/performance wise :)

No, it is not very loud and hot. This is a constant misconception of AMD parts.

Thats good to hear, and seeing as you have a 970 good to know you're not an AMD fan boy. Thanks

I buy what's best, not what I know :)
