L.T.T Guild Star Citizen

What shall we call our guild? L.T.T, LLT, Linus Tech Tips?


We could have one big Squadron or region based. I think one big Squadron would be best but its up to all of us.

What is the status on this game? I'm super pumped for it from what I heard when it was first started but is there like alpha going on right now? Do we just sign up on the website and wait for an email telling us it has launched? Is it going to be free to play? If it isn't going to be free to play what is the payment method they are going with? Have they released a launch date?

 

Sorry for all the questions but the website doesn't have any of this unless I want to go digging through forums, which I don't lol

it isn't free to play,and I'm pretty sure it's a one time payment,not subscription based.

I'm a founder but i think you can just make an account now, The new site is up and running. Best thing is to give it a try :)

Yeah its going to be like Guild wars 2 with a store for insurance for your ship,Game credits and probably some other things.

Have they released anything else? Like is it in alpha right now or beta? Is there a pledge package that lets you into alpha/beta? What is the projected release if they haven't given one yet?

There is access to alpha and the beta, In the $65 Package heres a link to that package.

 

Its not in alpha or beta yet to the public,

 

The full game is due for release end of 2014

Personally I dunno if ill join it, im still "Corp/Squad" Free but "Norwey"´s Group is temping, although I personally might not be much of a "pirate person" But yeah I got plenty of time to make up my mind.
I was tempted to join BlackWidow, but I have a feeling they are WAY to pro for me to fit in :P

I was tempted to join BlackWidow, but I have a feeling they are WAY to pro for me to fit in :P

 

They aren't really pirates if you have seen the show firefly they are like that.(if you haven't seen the show your missing a good wild west/sci-fi)

Indeed, there is a 'Wild cards' subdivison of Bloodpact who're more "piratey" but their identities will not be tracked back to us :)

Firefly isn't exactly recent it's from 2003 had a season got canceled then had a movie. Ever since it's had a small cult following wanting more. You can watch on netflix if you have it.

Haven't backed it, but I will soon. I played Eve Online for quite some time, but it was too slowly paced for me. This game seems to have everything I've wanted out of a space sim, most importantly real-time ship control.

There will be a ..eh mini test of some sort on the hangar soon, i forget when, august maybe it was? That package your looking at is the right one, lol it even says alpha/beta and whatnot. Yeah the 'hangar module' will allow backers to check out their ships in parked mode (turning on the engines and stuff) before the dogfighting alpha which is "shortly" after. Though it's hard to say what they mean by 'shortly' :P

 

Persistent universe testing is probably not until beta, there might be a Squadron 42 (single player) alpha module though.

if they're still giving full control of the ship. i am going to play it.
I want the game to make me dust off my cyborg 5 joystick.
still.. i think it's going to be awesome :)

 

Unfortunately i haven't read up much on the game lately.

But as a fan of ww2 battleships i really want to get my hands on something around the size of a UNSC rememberance frigate or a warrior/gladiator class UNSC ship (halo universe)

They're not making this game to be about who has the biggest ship. EVE does that already. This is more about the action, smaller battles with skill and tactis and dogfighting. The Idris Corvette is the biggest they've offered so far, and requires a crew of 10 players (though you can hire AI to man turrets)

They have confirmed Frigates, Escort Carriers and Destroyers, but they will be persistent ships and can not land anywhere, so if you log out they are still going to be sitting in the universe open for attack. So you need fleet buddies to help you maintain it.

 

The biggest ship in the game is the Bengal carrier shown in the pitch video and Squadron 42 video. It will not be purchaseable, the UEE navy has monopoly on it, but it will be possible to find (a) derelict one(s) from exploring uncharted systems, and if you have a really good team of 60-100 players you may be able to steal one. Though that will make you the nemesis of every NPC in the game and probably a lot of players will come for you as well.
