HyperX Cloud or Siberia V2?

I've been using the Siberia V2 for the past 3 years, but they finally died. I was just about to buy another pair since I really like them, but then I saw the HyperX Cloud. They seem to be the best for the price after all the reviews I read about them. The only problem is something almost every reviewer said: they sound muddy with an onboard soundcard and you need a headphone amp to hear them at their max potential, since they have a 60 ohms impedance.

I have a really crappy motherboard (I used the Siberia v2 with their USB soundcard), so I'm not sure if I should buy the Cloud now. I don't have the money right now to buy a soundcard or an amp (these things cost a lot here in South America).

What should I do? Will the Cloud sound worse than the Siberia v2 if I don't use them with a good soundcard/headphone amp?

Clouds are a good headphone that doesn't need an amp or soundcard to be used.

Yeah, but almost every review or opinion I've read say that they improve significantly and sound way fuller and clearier when using them with a headphone amp or a good soundcard.

Here is Tek Syndicate's review on the Cloud: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeoyJBwHc3U. At the 6:00 minute mark he talks about it.

Sighted listening from people that want to believe that their spending money actually did something. Amplification shouldn't change frequency response.

Amps should change anything, unless the amp is poorly designed.

I think you'll be pretty happy with the cloud. If anything, it will probably sound pretty much the same as your siberias, but they have the potential to sound better, should you decide to pick up a sound card, or amp later on. (If you believe in that stuff, as @SSL clearly doesn't, lol) I think you will be fine with the clouds, as they sound good without any extra amplification, etc. If you're worried about the sound, you could also pick up a cloud 2, and use the sound card if you want, since it will give you the same options as having the Siberia again, as well as getting the cloud 1 (Assuming they cost pretty much the same.)

I'm a pragmatist, spending money on something that doesn't actually do anything is dumb.

Fair enough. I personally try to experience what I can, when I can, and for me, if it does something that I can "hear" or think I hear, then I would probably get it, even though it may simply be the placebo effect.

60 ohms is not a lot of impedance, nor is impedance a big factor in difficulty to drive anyways. It's safe to say, people who talk about muddiness without an amp don't know what they are talking about, and are likely just repeating what they heard someone else say.
