(I'm not sure how to embed videos from Nico Nico Douga properly. If you visit the original article link, there is a properly embedded video about 2/5ths down the page.)

Japanese overclocker Takahiro Shimizu uploaded a video to the japanese video sharing website Nico Nico Douga yesterday, where he made ice cream inside a liquid nitrogen CPU cooler.

This video was due to the request of Jisatora Ippei, who writes articles for the DIY PC section of the magazine "Weekly ASCII". Ippei writes that, "...In light of the upcoming White Day*, I asked [Takahiro Shimizu] to make ice cream while using liquid nitrogen to overclock". Shimizu occasionally spills ingredients but assures viewers that it is fine, because the system featured in the video is what he usually uses when using liquid nitrogen and is coated to be waterproof. Though slightly questionable in appearance (particularly in color), Shimizu says that his liquid nitrogen cooled Milk Chocolate & Oreo flavored ice cream tastes surprisingly good.

He then proceeds to make hard ice cream**, of the same flavor. He calls the hard ice cream "crisp-looking", and the texture as "similar to cotton candy".

At the end of the video, Shimizu reminds viewers that he is "also" overclocking the system (just in-case you forgot), and points out that he reached 6GHz on his i7-4770k.

The appearance of the completed ice cream looked a little unpleasant, but if I were given the opportunity to, I'd like to try it. Unfortunately, I don't have any experiences with preparing food using computer hardware, so that's about all I can say. Maybe someone else that's done something like this before could share their experiences with us?

*White Day is one month after Valentines Day (the name probably isn't in regards to any ethnicity). In Japan***, Valentines Day is typically only observed by females. On White Day, Men give white/milk chocolate as thanks for chocolates received on Valentines Day.

**I'm not sure what he means by hard ice cream, but I imagine it's supposed to be like Dippin-Dots.

***I don't know exactly which other countries observe(?) White Day. If you know of another country that does, please comment and I will revise these notes.

Computer users fall into two groups:
those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail.

I'm guessing 8packs ice cream will taste of protein powder.

But can he OC? :D

I would highly doubt it. We're lucky enough if he gets his power point to work half the time.
