Android decibel reading app is bad.

My stereo is rated at 780 watts and well I turned it up watching the decibel meter, my volume goes to a max of 30.

So it kept going up until I hit 17 where the phone maxed at 83DB and goes no higher at much higher volumes where my ribs and body can literally feel the force if that 780 watts...

Now in tests my stereo can hit 129.8 DB which is crazy loud lol so yeah its's a shit app.

Decibel reading hardware is not cheap and your phone cannot do it.

It's not the app it's the phone itself, its not designed to measure sound levels.

Your Phones mic and hardware, are not good enough, my ipod maxes out at 125DB but my sound sytem goes much higher

This is wrong. If you want to read decibels you have to buy decibel reading hardware. You cannot read decibels using a phones/iPod microphone.

You can its just not accurate at all.

You CAN use it to compare however .

if you use the same app with same device to see which speaker is louder, it would work, But yes its not accurate, but still usefull
