Will more watts hurt?

Ultimate Assassin
Go to solution Solved by Gofspar,

No, the PC will draw only what it needs.

I want to do Lunus' 1500 build, but with a few modifications. He uses a 700w PSU and I want to get an 800w because it is almost the same price and I will upgrade hardware later. If I use an 800w for a 700w build, will it damage my computer in any way? I am going to replace a few things too. Please comment if u know the answer.

Spec list for the modified hardware (things not listed will still be in use from the original build:

MSI GTX 970

GS 800W

Corsair SP High Performance fans

CS Storm Scout II Advanced (Linus used the non advanced version)

Yep, just like @Gofspar and @MeDownYou said, no harm at all.

But ~50% load is supposed to be the sweetspot for efficiency, keep that in mind if you need/want to keep an eye on your electricity bill.

Also, a bit offtopic: Are you sure you want to use the Corsair SP High Performance ones? They're not really quiet.
