Be patient.

 

Plan out the steps before starting. (When I started I actually wrote them down.)

 

Be neat & tidy - keep screws in a container away from the motherboard. Same with tools.

 

I usually put all the empty boxes and packing materials in the case box as I go along. Keeps the junk in one place & out of the way. Once done I can go through it all for serial #s etc.

 

I write the date on all manuals so years later I know when something was bought. Once the motherboard box is free I use it to store all the manuals, disks, and spare parts.

but anyways in all seriousness now id say beware of static prone enviornments like carpets pets that sort of thing and get yourself an anti static wrist strap if you wanna just be on the absolute safe side their not needed but do help a bit if your super paranoid .

ok thx, i have a table set up on some tile, and i did purchase an anti static wrist band.
