S3 Graphics?

Has anybody here heard S3 Graphics? All I know is AMD and NVIDIA.

They are dead these days but they used to be active in the agp/pci days.Competing against 3dfx.

I think I saw these on a very old notebook. They were never popular though, even back when they were "active".

same thing like it happen to ATI, AMD buy them

most these company was taken by 2 giants that we knew,

First decent system I ever had had a 16mb Voodoo 3dfx, that card was the nuts, lol.

Nvidia bought 3dfx, diamond (s3) became manufacturer only, trident and sis went dark, matrox did video production chips for years but seems to have disappeared too.

You think that's crazy you should look up sound cards.
