Mounting a INTEL Cooler on AMD board (MODDING HELP)

andrewgpuking

So I have an LGA 1155 Liquid Cooler just laying here doing NOTHING. And I have an AMD system that has a loud stock heatsink, I use this guy as a HTPC and usually people complain about the noise it generates. So I had a fun idea, now I know you cant easily mount this but after looking online no one has seem to of done this. Mind you I am not spending any additional money. The CPU is an AM3. But I want to mount this liquid cooler on. Now I can get down and dirty with this, maybe using zip ties or some other crazy way. Help me out boys and girls! This is generally a mod, so I am looking for fun ways to test this

Apply some hot glue to the top of the CPU, then quickly press the cooler on top of it and keep applying pressure until sturdy. Fire up and enjoy.

Wh...what? I am assuming this is a joke? I mean using hot glue would not be good as thermal paste haha

Wouldn't the hot glue melt when the PC is on? Are you trolling?

Yes it's a joke xD. But anyways. I'm not exactly sure how to approach your situation, you could try zip ties. I'm not very creative.
