can't play 4k videos on YT

I have a GTX 960 and i am unable to watch a 4k video on YouTube, to choppy and seems as tho the gtx 960 is struggling 

Why can't a Cleric/Priest/Bishop help a beginner KoC? Cause he's No-bless...When I post something, the thread dies.OR I'm incredibly good at giving informations,
OR I'm a thread killer.

That sounds like connection more than GPU... What's your connection speed?

yes google chrome only uses html5 for YT

Have you tried using another browser? I have 100 Dl speeds and a 770 and i cant play 4k at Yt in chrome as well, guess it could be the browser itself.

most likely the best browsers i have found for yt is safari since it does not use flash player but instead uses quicktime

CPU shouldn't be an issue, whenever I watch 4K videos on YT, my CPU usage is around 5%. I have i5-4430. Update your drivers, try FireFox beta - it has HTML5 support. Also check if you have the latest Flash player plugin.

 

EDIT : Yup - I just checked - 4K 60 FPS videos on YT, 5% CPU in Firefox Beta, 75-80% CPU in Chrome. Used latest FF Beta and Chrome. Interestingly enough - despite CPU load never reaching 100%, video was still choppy as hell. Seems like some bugged codec in Flash Player plugin for Chrome.
