Should I get the a50 or the a40 for pc gaming? Please don't give me, "no astros, buy these instead" type of response. And if you chose one I would like to know why thank you.

A40, as A50's are just wireless A40's :)

Neither, they both suck for the price. Get something like sennheiser hd558/600/650 or audio technica ad 500x/700x/900x and use a modmic or zalman mic.

And what is the difference between the a40 for the xb1, a40 for the ps3, a40 for the ps4, a40 for the x360, and for the pc? Can it work for all of them or do I have to get the pc version if I game on a pc.

I believe it has something to do with the compatibility.

Read through the site or the individual product pages.

The XB1 has some weird way of connecting and stuff.. Not sure..

As someone who has had wireless headsets for years and still love them to death. I will say go wired because the batteries always die at the worst times without warning and will almost always cause you to have to set through the respawn screen while you change your batteries. I have gotten used to changing the batteries out really fast with one hand without taking the headset off but I would still say go wired instead of wireless if not just because of the inconvenience the battery situation has simply because of the higher price. If im not mistaken the A50's are almost $100 more expensive than the A40's and don't offer any extra features over the A40's besides the comfort of no wires.

Maybe you haven't read my question clearly

I read it, but I can't recommend bad headphones when there is a much better option.

Seems like he is more console focused and if so the suggestions you have made will not work since Xbone and PS4 cant use pc headsets like the Xbox 360 and PS3 could. Newer Astro's and older Turtle Beach's like the earforce delta's that are still 7.1 rather than the 5.1 are probably the best headsets that you can get for console gaming. If you want to know why you cant use sennheiser's with a modmic on Xbone is simply the need for the proprietary chat adaptor needed to talk and as for the PS4 if im not mistaken the headsets can only connect through bluetooth or USB.

In the OP, he said they would be for pc gaming, so no. If he did need them for a console, I think the G4ME series would work.

The PS4 can all you need to do is get a audio + mic to combo adapter for it to work like this:

If he doesn't plan on using them for console gaming as well then I would say don't bother with the expensive Astro's or Beach's if he is wanting console grade headsets for that then I wouldn't get anything beyond the Turtle Beach X12's which are a standard wired headset with stereo surround. It would save him about $200 for the same experience.

Ah I see I am wrong on that one but in my defence I have never owned a PS4 nor played on one. But as for the Xbone I know for a fact you can not use a pc headset on it since I have owned one and the need for the proprietary chat adaptor royally screwed my all wireless setup I had with the Earforce Delta's which were the $400 COD MW3 limited edition headset that I own. I still use the headset for watching movies on since I sold my console last July. Most would say the console grade headsets have poor sound but I can say the Delta's have awesome sound I have used them for years and have also used some of the higher end pc headsets at friends house's and I can barely tell a difference between them in sound quality other than I will admit an open back does have better lows but its not enough for me to want to go out and spend $200+ on another headset while my Delta's still work great. I personally might change when they break. And before you ask why did you pay $400 for the Delta's when a $200 pair from some other brand is just as good the answer to that is I didn't pay $400 for mine I got them on a black friday sale for $100 four years ago and they have served me well and are still kicking.
