Hey folks, i want to get a 1 TB SSD and replace my current storage setup. However i can't decide which one to get.

There's obviously the Samsung 840 EVO but it has TLC flash, i would prefer MLC flash for obvious reasons.

Then there are:

Mushkin Enhanced Reactor 1 TB   349€

SanDisk Ultra II 960 GB   335€

ADATA Premier SP610   362€

Transcend SSD370   369€

Kingston SSDNow V310   363€

Crucial M550   398€

Everything else is above budget. My budget is actually 350€ but i am willing to give the extra for MLC and whatnot. However i have no idea what else to look for. A good controller etc etc.? Please help me decide. ;)

who cares...

Mushkin are supposed to be really good. and I can't believe that people are now talking about buying a 1TB SSD more frequently.

Why do the 840? Go with the 850 EVO, with 3D flash. I have 2 of the 1TB ones and I love them.

The projects never end in my line of work.

Didn't the Samsung 850 pro have a 1tb model?

No clue what chip but it's an option. And it's not the same as the Evo.

Yes, but even the 850 EVO is too expensive. It's as expensive as the M550 but has TLC aswell.

Mushkin are supposed to be really good. and I can't believe that people are now talking about buying a 1TB SSD more frequently.

Source? I have never ever heard a word or two about Mushkin. Are they really good? Yes 1 TB SSD because i got 350€ back from another piece of hardare i returned and i am a silence freak. ;)

What's 3D flash? Isn't the 850 EVO TLC?

3D- Nand, I meant. It's TLC memory, but it's vertical stacks, so you regain the reliability that other manufacturers lose by making the cells smaller, as they do in other drives.

Hmmm looks good. I'm not so much about high read/writes, i just want to keep the snappyness. So the 840 EVO is regular 2D Nand? I have heard about weakening performance of the 840 EVO.

The 850 EVO is about as much as the M550. How would it compare to that?

Hmm That's still the 850 Pro. But the conclusion part was informative.

What i see is the M550, which is Crucials "better" SSD for the same price as Samsungs "cheap" TLC model. I have narrowed it down to those two (or three, including the 840 EVO) before already, i just can't see which one is better. All the mambo jambo about SSD internals just confuses me even more. :D

Just my $.02, I'd go for the newer ones, like the 550, the EVO, etc. They are generally getting better as time goes on.
