So I was shopping for some DDR2 ram on Ebay, and there's plenty like this LINK, but they all say "AMD Only" for some reason.

Why is this, and will I be able to use it with an Intel MOBO?

My GPU History: GTS 250, 7790, 7850, GTX 660ti, 7870XT, 7970, 280X, 280X Crossfire, 290, 290X, Fury X, 390 Crossfire, Fury Crossfire, 1070, 1080, 1080ti.

My CPU History: Pentium 4, Pentium E5300, Core 2 Quad QX 9650, Intel Xeon 1230 v3, 4790K, 3930K, 5820K, 1700, 3700X.

maybe it means it tested to work with AMD

but any RAM except ECC RAM will work with any desktop

It's like monitors that have "Windows 8 compatible" stickers on them.

You can still use them with other systems ( and in your case other motherboards )

I remember reading about some density thing with the AM2 memory controller... hold on ill do some digging

EDIT:

Yep

In case you did not know, the memory controller inside AMD's CPUs supports addressing of 11-bit columns while using 16K page size. In comparison, standard memory controllers on the market support 10-bit columns with 8K page size. In addition, AM2's controller can support as many as 2048 individual entries if a page size is 16Kbits, allowing the controller to stay longer on the same page.

With 11 column address bit support by the AM2 memory controller, the number of addresses in each row or page can be as high as 2048 individual entries for a page size of 16kbit. Unlike modules based on standard 10-bit column address chips with an "8k" page size, the new Titanium AM2 Special modules take advantage of the AM2 controller's feature set and provide a single rank solution with 2GB density using 16k pages. This allows the controller to stay in page twice as long compared to standard memory architectures, thereby achieving unparalleled performance.

So I should just check the module model number and see if it's 10 or 11 bit?

I'd just buy RAM that's known to work with Intel chipsets

Problem is that they cost twice the price (at least)

And if you buy that and it doesn't work they'll deny you a refund as they did say it won't work with Intel, and it'll cost the same anyway.
