I know it's a bit early to discuss it, but is Nvidia releasing a new line of gpus this year? Is it a yearly release?

It's an every other year type of thing. They'll release the super high end and the super cheap this year but that's it.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

There can't be a 980 Ti because the 980 is fully enabled. Next Nvidia GPU is either 1000 series or under a new naming scheme.

GM210 will be a ''titan'' branded card and it will cost like 1000$...will ship with 6 or 8GB of GDDR onboard...then will come the ''cut down'' mainstream edition.

This card will blow the 980 and anything AMD can bring out of the water.

I'm sure they have a few things up their sleeve just in case AMD release something that beats the 980. AMD aren't my preference however their existence is vital in keeping Nvidia honest and pushing out new GPU's as the technology evolves as opposed to just basing releases on profitability spreadsheets.

of course they have, so far they've only released the ''small'' GM204 GPU...when they will launch the ''big'' maxwell GM210 GPU even the GTX980 will look weak compare to it...like it was when the titan GK110 GPU launched compared to the fully enabled GK104 GPU found in the GTX680.

The next titan card will be a BEAST, and if needed they could even make it a 4000+ maxwell cuda cores 400W+ TDP beast that ship with watercooling in the box...but nvidia is no AMD they will not do such a silly thing.

New Naming Scheme...GeForce AMD's MOM, because its gonna destroy AMD's entire life like when your mom posts your naked baby pics to their facebook page.

The 980 is the 770's replacement and not the 780 Ti. Big maxwell is coming

exaclty...and it will cost a FORTUNE...but it will be SIGNIFICANTLY faster than anything available on the market right now...i think it will be called ''Titan 2'' i've also read somewhere that ''Behemoth'' was also considered...it will be a 1000$+ card and will probably not even be the full fledged GM210 GPU.

Then nvidia will most likely move to a new naming scheme and launch an even more cut down version and a full fledged mainstream GM210 GPU.

I will buy the 500$ ''more cut down'' version of that GPU to replace my GTX 780, provided this thing as AT LEAST 6GB of VRAM.

Why?

because it's the ''small'' gpu...like the GK104 was when it launched in the GTX680 and then the titan and GTX780 launched after that and it was worlds faster for about the same price...history repeats.

If in need of a high end card is there then the GTX970 makes sense, but the 980 s like 10% faster for a lot more money...not worth it...both of these will need upgrade at the same time.

ANewFace...

As of now, the 980 is the fastest single card solution.

However... 2x 970s are just about 1.8x as fast as a 980... for only $100 USD more.

I'll be putting 2 of the 970 in my upcoming build.

correct, but as i said...nvidia will launch a ''big maxwell'' die...that's a given...they can put A LOT more than 2048 cuda cores on there and this architecture is VERY efficient so i wouldnt be surprised at all if they launch a card with over 3000 maxwell cuda cores.

Its pointless to speculate. We'll know when we know.

I don't care too much, my 780 still runs everything i throw at it @ max settings 1920x1080 whenever it starts to fail me i will buy whatever Nvidia's top card is at the time, maybe even the one under the top card if im faced with a 780 v 780ti type decision again.
