Sub'd. This build strays from the norm (which automatically gets my attention) and even though haters are gonna hate, I bet this will still hammer nearly any game with ease. ;)

Alrighty, so here's "phase 2" I've mad some changes since these, and I'll be uploading the cleaned up and final pics later this week/weekend

Mounted the 360 rad to one of the sides, I love that you can mount it up like this then slip in the side panel.

EgI6wsr.jpg

c81kwEy.jpg

Here's the hole I had to cut in the 915 so that I could pass the 295x2's rad to the top case.

Z1Sdfeq.jpg

9iXcWIt.jpg

Both rads mounted to the top.

EnCCcFu.jpg

And it leaves the main case wide open :)

1JfBxDY.jpg

The crazy difficult job of cable crunching in the back of this case, lol.

qLZXrns.jpg

I ended up changing this fan out for one I like better

cVPdPND.jpg

....then I sprung a leak because I wasn't able to get a fitting tight enough due to being recessed. easy fix though

Preboot :D

Finally booting up for the first time :)

Performance numbers coming very soon, like actual gaming performance ;)

I'll be using VSR to do all the runs at 1440p

So I finished my gaming tests with the A110 7850k as just an APU and then again with the Dual Graphics setup using the HD 7750.

How would you like to see me post the results?  Help me out with using this straw poll :)

Very interesting. It's curious that in some games there's almost no improvement at all with the dual graphics setup, yet in other games there's 100% performance scaling (Hitman). I wonder if it has something to do with the drivers or the way the game is coded/optimized? Regardless, those are not bad numbers for someone looking to get a decent boost from their APU setup with not much extra cash.

Just curious, the 7750 you used, does it have GDDR5 memory or DDR3? I thought I read somewhere you can only run dual graphics with cards that have DDR3 memory, but I could be wrong.

The one that I have has some super slow DDR3, lol.

Not sure about being able to use GDDR5, I think it would slow it's effective rate down to match the APU's ram speed.

Good job bro. Nice to know its a capable chip.

You think the crossblade is worth the 150 dollars?

Honestly, YES.  The added control that you get, for not a whole lot more of every aspect of this board makes it completely worth it.

The Audio is incredible on this board, I mean it has the Supreme FX audio and the software suite is incredible for that.

The Intel NIC is great, especially since you can control the flow of traffic by the program you're using.

The Ai suite is pretty good for being able to setup fan curves on the fly for all the fans individually.

It is able to handle massive voltage with no problem.

The aesthetics of the board are spot on too.

So long story short, yeah I think this board is worth it for the extra features and build quality you get over the other boards that feel like they're missing the "nice" features.

Will be you using the 860k and the rog board as your daily driver?

did you swapped to the 860K?

I will say the 860K which has the iGPU lasered off will run more stable with higher clocks at a lower voltage and heat output

I seen the 860K need like 0.2+- volts less than the A10 for the same clock speeds

and the 860K will take more voltage and speed before it hits the TDP limit.

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

First to the OP: Great  build.  I've modded that case heavily myself and it is a joy to work with.

To some of the other members here:  This was my first visit here.  I like this place very much, it seems to be active, well maintained and organized and has some features I've not seen elsewhere.  Plus, it's not Facebook which is always good.

I have to say though, walking into my first build post and seeing the negativity being thrown at it right from the start is disgusting.

A 7850k will bottleneck a 295x2. And the build is not overkill...

Who cares if it's "not overkill"?  It's a NAME and it's his build.  Let him name it Little Bo Peep if he wants.

What a stupid build... how did amd provide anything to ya?

The stupidity in this comment speaks for itself.

I hope you mean overkill for kaveri, since APU's/integrated graphics will never be overkill

Again with harping on the name, and taking the opportunity to bash the guy's choice of hardware at the same time.

We are showing our opinions. Dont call someone a dumbass just like that

So was he, and he's not alone.  Showing his opinion of you by calling you a dumbass.  Just like one of the above comments called the build stupid "just like that".  Opinions only allowed if they're not about you?

Someome's sore

Yep.  There's enough bullshit going on pretty much everywhere else without seeing it in what I would have thought would be a more supportive community.

I wouldn't use a APU with 295x2, I'd at least splurge for a piledriver cpu.

THIS.  See this, guys?  This is how you put together a constructive cohesive thought.  This is how you keep people coming back to your little corner of the Internet, by suggesting something else if you disagree with it or pointing out what you would do differently.  Thanks, ErickS89.

I've been in different PC and modding communities online for many years now and I've got to say this is the worst treatment of a new post I've seen.  This guy's project got called "stupid" within THREE MINUTES of posting.  I don't know the guy, but he's a bigger man than I to even come back and deal with you pricks.

Life is too short.  Someday you'll see that.

He pairs a 7850k with a 295X2 and youre telling me this build isnt stupid? lol

First, just because the OP used a hardware combination you wouldn't, doesn't make it a stupid build.

Second, the OP already stated (several times) that he happened to have these parts in his possession and decided to use them together for the sake of experimentation and curiosity. The 7850K / 860K is a respectable quad-core CPU and not nearly as bad as many people think they are or make them out to be. Let's be real; they're certainly not i5's, but they can hold their own in gaming just fine.

Next time, please read the OP's comments more carefully. Thanks.

A good part of me wants the CPU to outperform my expectations.  :)
