So I heard from my brother that Nvidia was better than AMD because of their compatiblity with games due to certain drivers. I was a little bit skeptical about the claim and researched it and did find that back in June there was a test done with certain games like watchdog and Nvidia far outperformed AMD. I was wondering whether that's still the case. Do the drivers still play such a large role between the differences between Nvidia and AMD.

His claim was that in a lot of games Nvidia worked closely with game creators so that they were able to sort of fine tune the compatibility of the drivers.

Some games Nvidia is better, others not so much.

But in general, the two are equivalent.

I'm not touching this with a 10ft stick.

Regardless... Here I go.

Both companies offer advantages over the other. It's not that Nvidia necessarily wants to work hands on with the devs, they just have a far greater budget to BUY the devs to code into efficiency on their cards first and foremost. The way games are made (most of the time) is by funding foremost, that comes from publishers, and other backers such as AMD or Nvidia who can help fund the game's development in exchange for "priority optimization."

I think you'll find in games where NEITHER team is optimized over the other a pretty fair field, where the only cards beating each other are those whom are legitimately faster.

NVIDIA currently has a grip on the enthusiast market, but not by much, and possibly not for long. Honestly, I probably recommend AMD cards far more than NVIDIA cards, but I absolutely love my GTX 780.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

They both have good and not so good products.

You can get crap from either one if you don't know what you are doing.

Anyone who does not have a sister hates the fact that Kasugano Sora isn't his sister.
I'm not insulting anyone; I'm just being condescending. There is a difference, you see...

This except replace 780 with 970. Right now AMD is a much better value if you don't care about Nvidia specific features and optimizations. Nvidia just holds a prestigious title right now because their cards are considered more efficient and reliable and most popular Twitch streamers and You tubers use Nvidia. Performance per dollar though, AMD reks Nvidia a new anus.

There is barely ever a difference.  Sometimes when a game first comes out it will perform poorly on one or the other until new drivers come out, but by and large performance is pretty even.

Buy the card that gives you the most bang for your buck or has the features you want.  Do not worry about game specific optimizations or features.

From my own experience with them is

If u're also a content creator, u'll find a lot of advantage from nvidia. If your main purpose is only gaming, u might wanna take a look at AMD.

I've been using AMD cards for a very long time.my last AMD card is 6870. It was an amazing card at that time. I could play all of game that available on the market.

But, i have a quite many problem while i was making content. Somehow, CUDA cores from nvidia makes your life a lot easier.

I think geforce is a hybrid product between gaming machine and workstation. I think that's why they always a bit more expensive than AMD card but still, a lot of content creator such as me doesn't complain about it.

Even linus's crews are using nvidia card on their PCs (i saw it on their videos)

I don't know if i'm right or wrong. This is just my thoughts about this topic
