Corsair cx 750m!

Gunner1058
Go to solution Solved by EMENCII,

Yes, corsair makes good products, and a 4690k plus a 970 won't get anywhere near 750W...

Hey guys and girls!

Is the corsair cx 750m psu good?

Is it capable of handling a gtx 970 and a 4690k and overclocking it?

The CX is a low end power supply. I would go for a better quality psu if you don't already own it. A good quality 550W would be better than a low end 750W if you are only running a single card.

You could get a gtx 970 sli and not have problems with a cx 750

ill recommend a evga 650w gold and its fully modular for the same price

“It would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”

I hope you haven't bought this if you didn't have it tbh

It's a poor poor PSU, the internals are bad and as said above, stuff like the EVGA Supernova G2 use far superior components based on the SuperFlower Leadex platform

i5 4670k - Z87X-UD3H - EVGA GTX 670 Sig 2 - Samsung 840 Evo 250GB - 8GB Avexir Core White 1600Mhz - Corsair 750D w/ RGB LED Mod & Remote Control - 2x SP120 - 3x Enermax Cluster - 2TB Seagate SSHD - Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 - SuperFlower Leadex Gold 750W

I would recommend buying a better PSU if you have any spec that cost $800 +

I had the CX600M for my i7 4790K and Asus GTX970, and I experience coil whine from the GPU, pretty bad ones.

Then I done some searching, people say it could be strongly related to the PSU, so I got the EVGA Supernova G2 750W, the coil whine issue is much much better now.
