As such GPU is known to make quite a fireplace, maybe consider obtaining a new GPU?

Though  108o is way too high, make sure it's clean and has amply airflow.

I think you are better off just abandoning that card. 480's.......ew I have heard so many bad things about them. Just get a 970 or 960. Or even a r9 285.

i see how old it is so rma is out of the question. thermal past like someone else said make sure its clean, i'm not sure you can bring this beast back to life. all else fails you can take it apart look for burns in the pcb bad caps and get a cool coaster.

i failed at quoting and editing this...

Unless you have all your graphic settings maxed on CS:GO, there shouldn't be that much heat output... Try turning the video settings down to the minimum and try again.

If this wasn't the case, I would scrap the 480. There are so many better cards that are way cheaper than what you have. Mid-tier cards that run games fine at 1080p can cost around 180-220 USD. (R9 280x is a good one)

Anyhow, goodluck

Also try air dusting your components - especially the fan and heatsink on your GPU.

Make sure your PC is open enough so that the GPU is not microwaving the rest of the system.

lol its not a fire hazard. combustion from heat starts well above 100c. its cpu will go bang way before it catches fire.

what are you using to measure temps? if it's speed fan ignore it, it says my gpu idles at 148c..

poor airflow and dust are the main factors for high heat build ups.

also it's a very old card so the Tim used on the head spreader maybe old and worn. so replacing that could give dramatic results
