ZOTAC ZT-90101-10P GeForce 970. 2 90mm fans. My reccomeneded system PSU is 500W will this: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/insignia-insignia-520w-power-supply-ns-pcw5250-c-ns-pcw5250-c/10291378.aspx?path=e2383ee77c445b92a1824ca81c6e5b2cen02.   520w power supply do? Insignia seems to be fairly solid please share ideas as I cant find much info on whether or not this PSU is any good. Seems like it will deliver the power. Ill be using my computer for gaming video and video editing.

I was going to get the thermaltake 600w tr2 but the reviews dont seems to be very good. Which would be a better psu to go with? Yes Im aware I could just go with a 750w or whatever and forget about it but these are the two I have to choose from. If you want you can recommend a psu of higher wattage but there is no real need lol.

That Insignia unit won't be any better than the TR2, probably worse.

If your local Best Buy has a CX750M or an EVGA 600B (they usually do), get either one. The wattage is overkill but your system isn't going to die at the hand of a garbage PSU.

Fun fact: The unit is rated for 420W with a peak of 520W.

Should be ok

A 520W psu will do just fine

should be plenty, though next time if you're curious about compatibility go to pcpartpicker.com

I take it none of you have actually looked at the unit? And the point of the forum is to guide people in their tech purchasing decisions, so offloading them to another site doesn't do much.

XFX do cheap Tier 2 power supplies, and they kick ass!

I agree with what he has said.

I referenced that 500 watt should be fine. I never said anything about the PSU choice

  • If there's any possibility that you might upgrade, leave yourself some headroom.
  • Go with something that's at least 80+ rated.
  • Check out pcpartpicker.com for pricing comparison.
  • Check out jonnyguru.com for PSU reviews.

You need to make that clear, as the OP will be spending money and using it to power his system. He had asked a vital question regarding a potential purchase of an Insignia PSU, and your

comment can be treated as you "referencing" that his particular PSU choice will "be ok".

If you're looking to purchase, TigerDirect has an XFX 550W unit (made by Seasonic) for $40 after rebates at the moment. Free shipping too. It's rated for 550W continuous, and it's 80+ gold. it's fully modular though. Seasonic makes some of the best and most reliable PSUs out there. (Is this an appropriate recommendation @quan289)

You sir are the man very helpful any bestbuy.ca PSU's you would recommend? Since the PSU's I looked at are heaps of crap. Any ideas On where I can get a cheap PSU in store? waiting for the order sucks.

Or maybe overnight shipping to Halifax NS modular preferred 2 six pin needed.

There is a 1050w At both futureshop and bestbuy but that seems excessive.
