The Mac isn't bad at all, but a TN panel with meh viewing angles and colors along with underwhelming speakers is a deal-breaker.

I wouldn't recommend either for what you are doing. Try the base XPS 13 2015, or the Asus Ultrabook.

For browsing? Man, no need to spend 1100 bucks get an asus t100ta, it's more than enough for any amounts of browsing you'd want to do (unless you're like Linus and use 8gb+ of ram simply by opening multiple tabs...)

Feel like there are equally good options for what you're looking for at a lower price. That and a fairer comparison to the Surface would be the MBP when it comes to price.

I have the Surface Pro 2. It is amazing and it is perfect for me, but I think you should get something like a cheap ultrabook or a chromebook.
