Don't go with WD greens, they aren't meant for Raid setups or even use as a main HDD. They are better for JBOD storage setups.

I am looking into setting up a RAID 1 array with 3 TB HDD. I don't know if I should go with Seagate Barracudas or WD Greens. (both drives are the same price)

Go with reds. Greens have a feature where it parks the drive head. and the raid array thinks it failed.

The projects never end in my line of work.

Hey Pacdude11,

As the guys pointed out, WD Red would be the most appropriate choice from the WD line for consumer lever RAID as it is a NAS/RAID class drive. WD Green is not designed for RAID environments and lacks the necessary features to work safe in a RAID array. I would not recommend it for that. Do have in mind that many people use WD Green in RAID1 and have very good feedback. :)
WD Red has additional features and tuning to work safer and smoother in RAID arrays and would be more apropriate. Here's a link: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=laco4e

Thanks @JeffreyEagan for mentioning me :) there is a problem with my notifications whenever someone tries to mention my nickname - I simply don't get any.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions or concerns. :)
