Worth it? (second hand lappy)

soup

My son has a chance to buy a Toshiba satelite laptop (from his boss at work) I have some (very incomplete[the seller sent a text]) specifications

92.7GB hard drive (eh?) a 1.8 GHz Celeron and 2GB RAM: for £120.

No OS specified, I assume integrated graphics.

Aparrently it is quite old but still pretty much unused.

I don't think that is worth it but thought I would ask here.

It depends on what it would be used for... If he needs a cheap laptop for word/etc... then it may or may not be decent...although, that sounds expensive considering an HP Stream is like $300.

Not worth it, I'm sure you can find a new much better laptop for around 170£ with warranty and everything.

I sometimes sell second hand laptops with over 300 gigs, 2+ gb ram, dual-core and dedicated gpu for like £90, older laptops but working.

So I wouldn't buy that one if I were you

I say no. You can get something like a chromebook, a HPstream or even just look on ebay. My current laptop that has 4th gen i3 4GB of RAM 350GB HDD and came with ubuntu(which I know have it dualbooted with windows7) was $150USD

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

No, you can get a much better laptop for even that price. I sold my old Acer dual core with 3GB of RAM for around that price.

I picked up an old Celeron M laptop a few years ago, 1.6GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM, 160GB HDD and it cost $100 (had a web cam as well as Bluetooth, infrared and a user serviceable design) and it was worth it for web browsing and Microsoft office and that was it (and a few DOS games on the side). What your looking at though seems to be poor value for a computer that is no doubt from around 2006.
