Hello, i'm new to the forum and to pc building. I am planning on building my first pc this year. After a fair amount of reaserch i believe ive come up with a pc thats good for me. (for gaming! ) I was wondering if i was missing any vital components for my build, i do know that i havent picked fans or a cpu cooler as well as accesories. Any advice is truly welcome.

That I a REALY underpowered cpu, may even go as fr as to bottleneck your gpu.

A gtx 970 would be a massive upgrade to that machine worth considering

I would drop the BD player and drop to a 120gb ssd to upgrade to a 970 and an amd quad core - 6 core

Edit - a lower wattage psu would save u some cash

1) Motherboards don't have performance features. Just a featureset. You're spending a lot of money on that motherboard for a featureset that's going unused.

2) The G3258 has poor multi-threaded performance. These days it's becoming more and more important. You can get away with the G3258 for the most part, but in your budget you can just strait up get a better CPU.

3) The V300 is a notoriously shitty SSD. Kingston swapped the internals (a downgrade) without telling anyone and I really don't like that. Avoid it.

4) You can get a better PSU for the price. The Superflower Golden Green are great units available in your area.

5_ Physical media is dead. Everything is streamed these days, and even OS installs can be done with a USB flash drive. You can skip it. This also enables you to get the S340, which is a cheap yet excellent case. On both the Phanteks Enthoo Pro and the S340, stock fans are perfectly sufficient. You will want to move the top exhaust fan to be a front intake on the S340 though.

6) If your router isn't AC, or even if it is and you don't have crazy fast (like 100MB/s+), then a cheaper dual band N series wifi card is perfectly sufficient.

Given that, this is what I'd do for the price:

The PSU is overkill, but this way you can just slap in a second R9 290 for more GPU horsepower if you ever decide you need to.

The G3258 will bottleneck the 290.

But an AMD CPU will also bottleneck the 970 and the 290, hahaha

I don't know, an amd 6 core cpu shouldn't bottleneck a 970, but I would definitely change that cpu

Just gonna say this now:

In case you want to modify anything (like case painting or GPU cooler) or removing HDD cage, 5and1/4" bays and etc. Just do it BEFORE you start putting things in.
Thought through this now, having in mind the airflow, and how many data storage you'll need.
In addition I'd also recommend getting 2 fans (I'm not a Noctua fan, or anything) Pressure optimized fans.
Like Corsair's fans, they have even paintable rings, so moar customization options = better.

And as ppl above: pick something from i5 or i7 family. No dual core is now good for a system of any kind. ^ ^

Both the G3258 and the FX-6300 will bottleneck a GTX 970 and even an R9 290, although in completely different ways.

The G3258 will struggle on heavily multithreaded games because it has poor multithreaded performance while the FX-6300 will struggle on games that require good single-threaded performance. You really want at least an i5 for gaming as you finally have both good multithreaded and singlethreaded performance from the i5. Currently no AMD CPU exists that has sufficient single-threaded performance for all games.

Hear hear,

120 gb ssd

No optical drive

Low end I5

Gtx 970

Lower wattage psu - maxwel is very power efficient

If u have to wait a month then wait, these upgrades are VERY worth it
