They shouldn't. They might ray it just to check for contraband. In case you want to be the highest person in the sky.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. The True Path of the Feathered One. ~ Dimboble-dubabob III

Hi guys, my brother just bought me a Gtx 980 in US and he will bring it with him in the plane, I was wondering if the xrays in the security area would affect the card in any way.

Thanks in advance.

It sho9uldnt do, but if it does tell them what it is, and that you he is sending it to you, and that he can show him on the internet what it is. And the card will not be affected by the X-Rays. Remember to keep it safe!

X-Ray machine is fine. Processor manufacture even uses X-Rays to examine their processor being attempted to be mass produced to check if the process is fine. This is especially done when they try a new manufacturing process, like a die shrink.

In addition, millions of people pass their laptop or tablets through the X-ray machine on a daily basis when they travel, and it is not a problem.
