so i bought a 360 controller a while ago, and it was good for most 3D games, but one thing that i hated using it for was the 2D games, since its D-pad is crap, and using the joystick as a 4-way D-pad is really bad

does anyone know the best 2D game controller to use for PC?

also i has to have 2 joysticks, since these are always useful to have for binding some buttons in arcade games that use loads of buttons

Like 2D platformers? Maybe something like a SNES emulating controller..

The PS3 controller is pretty decent for that, but it is more difficult to set up on PC

like any 2D game, i have a 28,800 roms pack for arcade games, so everything from fighting, to platforming

also, please suggest native PC controllers, since those works a lot easier, without keybinding software

Logitech's F-series controllers have fantastic D-pads with individual switches for each direction. I can highly recommend them. I use the F710, but I would recommend F310 since the wirelessness of F710 only adds a ton of weight and the wireless operation can be pretty wonky at times.

are there any better, newer logitech controllers, or should i get this one

also, how long time do you get out of your controller before having to change batteries?

I personally would take the F310. I don't mind wired controllers as long as it's a longer wire, it's cheaper, and wireless will only add latency (which isn't useful in pixel perfect or fast games)

Desktop: Intel Core i3-6100, 8GB RAM, 750GB HDD, GeForce GTX 750 Ti

im not a console gamer, and have not used a playstation controller since the PS1, but the ps3 controller seems a lot better than the logitech one, do you think it would be better for 2D games on PC, or is the logitech one the one to take?

Well the Logitech one is way easier to set-up, and I have no experience with 2D games on the PS3 controller. I would still go with the Logitech.

i have no problem with going through a guide to set up a controller, but i might just go with the PS3 controller, since i play a lot of PSX and PS2 games on my pc

I just use my Gravis Exterminator, I've always used a joystick with DOS games, though the gravis is more advanced than the one I used with my 386.

wow, that controller looks like a hybrid between the original ps3 controller and the genesis controller, like some alien controller, is it really that comfortable to use?
