Dying Light Performance Fix

Tim Drake

I finally figured out how to make Dying Light run well.

Before Fix: 30FPS

After Fix: 60-70FPS

Step 1:

http://www.nexusmods.com/dyinglight/mods/18/?

Download this program. (Don't worry it's a false positive, run it anyway)

Step 2:

Launch program and locate your "DyingLightGame.exe"

Step 3:

You should now see this: fe2aa1303df85642274f30c534e78a26.png

Now you will see that you have to Enable Mods. Do that at the bottom right of the program.

Step 4:

The settings that are most important here are to untick:

"Enable Sun Shadows"

"Enable Clouds"

These will give you the biggest FPS boost the rest is up to you.

Optional Settings that help:

"Borderless Window Mode"

Disable Film Grain (No FPS Boost but looks better)

"Set priority: Above Normal"

My Settings:

PLEASE COMMENT IF IT WORKED FOR YOU SO PEOPLE CAN TRUST IT

I will upload a YouTube video later explaining how to do it.

It's not the "turn view distance all the way down" thing is it?

If it is just about turning down the viewing distance to like 40 instead of 90 or something, I'll be so mad.

You better deliver!

P.S That only improved my FPS by 2 when I did it.

Its great, gives you a couple more options than the In game menu and allows mods to work. Cant wait for techland to implement modding properly but this is great until they do.

I'm just waiting for NMM to support Dying Light, that is if the Devs quit being fuckheads about mods.

They said they would but screw NMM. An update to mod organiser would be awesome.

Well at least Techland has stated they want to support mods. I was prepared to be super pissed if they were trying to stop people from modding. With all the buildings that can't be accessed, there's so much room for modders to do stuff. I'm hoping people start making side quests and what not.

Only problem I had with the game was just that it wasn't long enough for such a fun experience.

I dunno the length is pretty good. Ive played for 16 hours through the story. But yeh. It NEEDS modding support. Techland did state as well they are making a way to do multiplayer mods through friend invites but no public modded lobbies. Which will be awesome

The main story is fine, I just wanted a hell of a lot more side quests.

To put it plainly, I wanted a skyrim load of content, morrowind, or oblivion loads of content would also suffice. lol

Yeah this game's hype is going to die very quickly if they don't get some mod support.

AND FIX THE GOD DAMN PERFORMANCE

AND FIX THE GOD DAMN PERFORMANCE

Only issue I've had with performance is going over 3.5gb of vram even on 1080p.

That and the CPU issue, which isn't really game breaking just sort of....weird

There are actually quite a lot of side quests. But you have to explore to find them but i do agree. Skyrim style mods would be awesome, i cant wait for co-op modding so me and my mate can use the badass zombie mods already on the nexus

Getting frame drops of up to 30 fps even on an i7 extreme?

Not game breaking?

Sort out your settings. Im running an i5 and dont get any frame drops. View distance and foliage quality are your enemies.

Hasn't happened to me. The worst I've had is the game slowing down all of a sudden for a split second while the game and my cpu try to figure out what is happening, hasn't killed me so far.

Actually the only things that have ever killed me was messing around with those things at night, and jumping off of things that I shouldn't have.
