Hello !

With the new Nvidia 700s Series cards that were announced, I really feel it's time for me to upgrade my
current Graphics Card, an old GTX 570.

Check my Build Here: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/18101-c70-neon-splash/?p=333211

All my others parts are recent & decent so it's time to step up the game with my GPU,
I did some research and came down to the conclusion that I would buy one of the following cards:

Budget: ~430$

- GTX 680
- GTX 770
- GTX 760 (Direct CU II)
- AMD 7970

I really need help deciding on which one to get.

Thanks

I'd stick to the green team as of now. Frame ratings are still kinda bad for the red team. Though if your don't mind FPS and Frame rates as much and you just want to play games. Go for the red team for the EPIC NEVER SETTLE BUNDLE.

Go for the 770 or better yet, if you can save abit more why not go for a 780? :)

so a 770 wins in terms of performance over a 7970? I doubt that..

it's basically just a tossup, both overclocked probably trade blows back and forth,

I think the frame rating only affects multi-gpu setups, not single gpu. And AMD said they were going to release the new drivers that will fix them soon.

But I agree though, if you can still wait and save up more, get a 780.

Since one of the leverage of the 7970 on the 770 is the never settle bundle, and you don't have that there, I'd go with what is cheaper between the two because they are pretty close based on performance.

If you could get a 770 with the reference cooler, I'd go with that cause' it looks friggin sexy haha!

Just my opinion though.  :D

Good enough.

Alright thanks a bunch :)

I might go with a 770. I wish I could afford a 780, but it's really going to be tight for me.

Does anybody have any preferences on 770 card manufacturers and specific coolers?

I was looking at MSI's Lightning (I'm a fanboy :P )

I know ASUS, Direct Cu II has a very good reputation but some say it's not worth the buck?
